The relationship between Celtic art and people we
call Celts is very complex. In most of the areas where Celtic art developed and
was used, people spoke the Celtic language. That doesn’t mean to say that they
thought of themselves as Celts or that we can give them that sort of ethnic
identity, but they probably spoke the Celtic language, therefore they could
communicate with each other. In the area in which Celtic art developed in the
fifth century, roughly eastern France
and southern Germany ,
people had probably been speaking the Celtic language for a long time.

簡單直接地說,接受同一樣的文化,說著同一樣的語言,都不足以斷言他們就是同一個民族的成員。
這在今天的香港而言,倒是有一種意味深長的反思!
香港這個地方,不可否認的就是很多香港人都接受自己是生活在一種無需要論証的中國文化底蘊當中,同時也在日常生活裡說著“中國人的語言”;但是,這是否就可以斷言生活在香港這個地方裡的“人”就是“中國人”?
一個身份的認同,並不在於是否接受同一種類的文化結構;也並不在於是否說著大多數人都明白的語言;要求一個獨立的個體“接受”與“承認”自己是這個國家的“國民”,你們認為需要甚麼呢?
