The lifestyle of
PTS was basically according to the working hours; 8 hours per day. All students
had to morning exercise by themselves in the small playground at 6 and a half every
morning, and according to the order came into canteen for breakfast at 7:00,
back to dormitory room to have a rest before 8:00, afterward, the daily
training procedures started at 9:00, until finished class at 17:00. Arrival at
canteen for dinner at 18:00; and we had a free time before 20:00. One hour
mandatory self-study started at 20:00, it often to self-study about the law of Hong Kong and the ordinance of Police Force. The daily
training procedures finished at 21:00; all students had done everything which
they want to do till to the morning exercise of next day.
The second day in
the PTS, two senior police students passing out two months later came to Q
class to give some help; it was arranged by the deputy head teacher of Q class.
At that time, there were so many personal equipment for police student to
manage; for example, the siren rope, it was a one-third inch thick long black
rope; how to use it to weave a style of hanging rope to coupling a siren. Honestly,
no one to know how to do it in Q class.
At that time, Hong
Kong was still a Royal Hong Kong Police Cadet School, the main reason for
establishment this school was recruiter insufficient amount in 1970’ s, there was not many people
choosing to join the Police Force to regard as a lifelong career.

Because of the
Royal Hong Kong Police Force has seriously corruption between 1960’ s and 1970’ s.
Go to try to solve
the problem of recruiter insufficient among, the Royal Hong Kong Police Force
established the Royal Hong Kong Police Force Cadet School to give a chance to
the teenage who has not interested to learn at school, let them try to apply to
be a student of Police Cadet School. These students will be accepted for a
teenage extremely harsh physical and discipline tr5aning. When they complete

It was only a
prejudice in PTS. In reality, the two different kind of background of students
were not any difference.
In the day of two
senior students visited the dormitory of Q class, they solved the problem of Q
class of the rope of siren, and demonstrated how to use the shoe polish it distributed
by government to buff the marching boots and the uniform shoes, let them became
shinning, and to make a magic to change the boot head of marching boots and the
shoe head of uniform shoes from gloomy to reflect the teeth slit.
Actually, boots
are the necessary equipment for the student living in PTS. In these days, when
the student step outside of the dormitory moving in the area of the school, in
addition to wearing boots, they can only wear black sport shoes. Therefore,
students being moving outside from dormitory, the boots head is bright or not,
the focus usually is. There is why all the students more or less will be shoe
expert, each one have had secret method to make their shoe head became shinning.
My secret method
was receipted from the other senior student inheritance; be equipped with a
small bottle of petrol, a worn-out cotton quality T-shirt, a little water, a
lighter and a forefinger.
If you want to
survive well, not to attract an unnecessary (greeting), this is a very
important skill of lifestyle in PTS, you have to learn and practice in
seriously. Originally, PTS has had provided this service by handyman, they can
spend tens of dollars per month to manage the shoes-head. Unfortunately, it was
not allowed from deputy head teacher, the students of Q class need to do it by
themselves in the first two months; two months later, if they have still been
staying at PTS, they will be allowed to find someone else to help.
Therefore, the
first days after finish the daily training, everybody staying at dormitory to
take care of their boots and shoes heads, and have a competition to each other
to see whom the boots and shoes heads are brighter than the other ones.
My secret method
was a refined products through the slowly production process. Every time to rub
the shoe polish on the shoe head with thin layer, after that, use the heat of
lighter let the shoe polish sticking on the shoe head smoothly, and then to rub
the shoe polish on the shoe head again and again, until to make sure that is
enough, then, use a piece of cloth cut down from a worn-out T-shirt to stain a
little water, to warp a forefinger, rotating to grind on the shoe head lightly. If the shoe
polish on the shoe head is smooth enough, after a few polished with water,
there will be able to illuminate the teeth slit effect.
學堂的生活作息，都是以一天八小時工作為基礎。每天早上六時半全校學員都需要到小操場上自行早操。七時後便依次序到飯堂進食早餐，大約八時之前便回到宿舍休息一會兒，到九時便開始一天的受訓過程，到下午五時便放學。六時半便到飯堂用膳，之後到晚上八時之前都是自由時間。晚上八時便是一小時的強制自修課堂，通常都是自修香港法例和警察條例。到晚上九時便是休息時間一直到翌日早上的早操時段。
在學堂的第二天，副班主任安排了還有兩個月便畢業的師兄來到宿舍幫忙。當時的軍裝學員，有很多個人裝備需要整理；例如銀笛繩，一條長長的黑色三分之一吋厚粗繩，如何把它結成為一條掛著銀笛的花式結繩！坦白說，全班二十人沒有一個人知道！
當時，香港還有少年警察訓練學校，成立的主要原因，就是從七十年代開始，皇家香港警察的招募成績一直都不理想，並不是有太多人願意以警察作為職業。
為何？
因為名聲不好！

因為有貪污！
所以皇家香港警察為了解決招募人手的問題！便成立了少年警察訓練學校，讓當時沒有讀書興趣的少年，有初中學歷便可以投考少年警察訓練學校。這些少年學員在訓練學校中會接受對於少年人來說極為嚴苛的體能和紀律訓練。到他們完成訓練之後，便會得到警務署招聘為正式的警察學員。這批出身少警的學員，個人體能和步操能力都很好，通常都會特別得到副班主任的喜愛，但因為他們的學歷背景，對於修讀香港法例和警察條例便會對正班主任有一定的困擾。
這只是在學堂內的傳統成見，現實情況下，兩種不同背景的學員其實並沒有太大分別！
就在師兄到訪宿舍當天，他們解決了Q班二十名學員的銀笛繩問題，還示範了如何使用政府分發的鞋油把全新的步操軍靴和軍裝皮鞋的表面擦得發亮，同時更可以讓軍靴和皮鞋的鞋頭位置的光亮程度達到可以倒照出牙齒的隙縫！
其實，軍靴是每名學員每天在學堂行動的裝備。那時候，當學員踏出宿舍，在警校範圍內活動，除了穿上軍靴，便只能夠穿著黑色運動布鞋(黑飯魚)
所以，在外出走動的時候，軍靴鞋頭是否光亮，通常都會是焦點所在！故此，每一名警察學員，或多或少都會是擦鞋專家，各自都擁有獨門手法讓鞋頭發亮！
我的獨門手法，都是承傳於其他兄師；要配備一小瓶電油、穿舊了的綿質汗衣、小許清水、一個打火機和一隻食指！
因為這是學堂生活中一件十分重要的技能，要生存得好，不招徠無謂的(問候)，便要苦心學習和實踐。本來，學堂內是有專門提供這類服務的雜工可以幫忙，只要每月花數十元便可以。但是，當時的副班主任並不容許，要Q班的學員在首兩個月內要自行處理自己的鞋頭；兩個月後，如果仍然留在警校，便可以找別人幫忙。所以，最初的日子，每天下課之後，大家都留在宿舍好好照顧自己的鞋頭，互相比試鞋頭的光亮程度。
自己的獨門技術，就是慢工出細貨。每一次為鞋頭上鞋油都是薄薄的一層，之後用打火機熱力讓鞋油平滑地依附在鞋頭表面；之後再一次上鞋油，重複多次這套動作。當認為鞋頭上的鞋油足夠了，便用一片汗衣碎布包著食指，沾一點清水，在鞋頭上輕輕旋轉打磨。如果，鞋頭上的鞋油平滑程度高，再經過幾次水打磨，便會出現可以倒照出牙齒隙縫的效果！
